Description
Winter onion 'Baikal' is a perennial and cold-resistant variety, known for its early harvest and longevity. Dark green waxy leaves and small white spherical inflorescences appear in mid-summer. Can grow in the same place for 4–6 years. Unlike common onions, winter onions do not grow a large tuber, but produce long hollow green tops and a thin white stem. Grows as a bush, 45–60 cm high. Soft and pleasant onion flavor, less strong than bulb onions. The flesh is crispy and juicy. It is fast-growing and the crop can be harvested several times during the season.
