Gentian ( Gentiana ) is prized for its exceptionally intense deep blue flower color, which is rarely found elsewhere in the garden. Depending on the species, gentians bloom in spring or autumn and usually prefer a sunny or semi-shaded, well-drained location. They are perfect for rock gardens and low bed edges.
