Description

It grows naturally on the rocky coasts of Northern Europe, Greenland, northeastern Siberia and North America, on clam beds above the waterline. The 10-60 cm long shoots above the ground bear abundant pink to blue flowers. The English name "oysterleaf" refers to the oyster flavor and the leaves can be used, for example, as an edible garnish.
