Description
The milkweed, which grows rapidly in width with rhizomes, is a good plant for places where most plants are unwilling to grow. A lean, dry, sandy, sunny place is best. It forms a tuft of narrow gray-green, pine-like shoots with red leaves at the tip, at the top of which inflorescences with greenish-yellow bracts develop. In too vigorous a place of growth, it will lie down and not be so decorative. Very decorative all season and also has wonderful autumn color
