Japanese astilbes bloom earlier than others. They start blooming in late June/early July. 'Ellie' has pure white flowers, 45-60 cm tall. Compact dense bush, deeply lobed dark green foliage. Very good cut flower. Moderately moist but well-drained soil. Does not tolerate drying out. Divide after 3-4 years
