Description
An easy-to-grow prairie candle species, prefers a sunny or semi-shaded location with good drainage and moist soil. It also tolerates drought well. It blooms in late May, early June for 2-3 weeks. Height 80-90 cm. The starchy bulbs were used by the Indians for food. The variety I have in my collection has not yet produced seeds - so there is no risk of weeding from self-sowing.
