Description

Anemone x hybrida 'Andrea Atkinson' was rated one of the top three Japanese Anemones in the Shade Evaluation Garden at the Chicago Botanic Garden, where it bloomed for close to two months and came through tough winters without damage. The flowers are pure white with creamy centers, single to semidouble in form, and slightly larger than those of 'Honorine Jobert', a fine heirloom that we have offered for years. Anemones thrive in full sun or partial shade (required in the South and the warmer areas of Zone 9 in the West) and deep, rich, moist soil. Once established (which may take a year or two), they will fill in any available space, though these plants are far too charming to be called invasive.
